Great World Mantras

A Mantram is a combination of sounds, words, and phrases which, because of certain rhythmic effects, achieve results that would not be possible otherwise. The words or syllables are rhythmically arranged so that when they are sounded, certain vibrations are generated.

The potency of a mantra (or mantram) depends upon the point in evolution of the one who uses it. Uttered by an ordinary person it serves to stimulate the good within and to protect. It will also prove of beneficent influence upon one's life and environment. Uttered by an adept or initiate its possibilities for good are infinite and far-reaching.

A mantra, when sounded correctly, creates a vacuum in matter resembling a funnel. This funnel is formed between the one who sounds it and the one who is reached by the sound. A direct channel of communication is formed.

There are mantrams to use in healing, mantrams of protection, and many others that put one in touch with Divine Will or with Divine Love or Light; mantrams that invoke the God within, that work with the matter of the mental plane, abstract or concrete. There are mantrams that can only be entrusted to initiates and the Masters, which deal with relationships beyond our comprehension.

It is very helpful to memorize the mantrams and use them throughout the day to hold one's identity as the soul instead of slipping back into the old habits of the personality mind and emotions. Once LaUna was lost while back country skiing in very deep fresh snow on Mt. Shasta with a friend. She had memorized the Gayatri the day before and began to say it aloud over and over as she searched for some trace of a way down. As each hour passed it appeared more likely that they would have to spend the night high on this mountain without proper equipment. Yet by repeating the Gayatri, all fear dissolved and she enjoyed the search for a way off the mountain and knew that it was only a matter of time.

The two friends did discover a fresh trail made by skiers and made their way to safety just as dusk turned to darkness. Safe at last she realized how helpful it was to concentrate on the wisdom of the Gayatri and preserve all of her energy --- while connecting with even greater forces of light and energy.

O Thou who gives sustenance to the Universe,
From Whom all things proceed,
And to Whom all things return,
Unveil to us the face of the true Spiritual Sun,
Hidden by a disc of golden light,
That we may know the truth,
And do our whole duty
As we journey to Thy Sacred Feet.

I Am a Messenger of Light

I am a messenger of Light. I am a pilgrim on the way of love.
I do not walk alone but know myself as one with all great souls,
and one with them in service.
Their strength is mine. This strength I claim.

I am a point of light within a greater Light.
I am a strand of loving energy
Within the stream of Love divine.

I am a point of sacrificial Fire,
Focused within the fiery Will of God.
And thus I stand.

I am a way by which men may achieve.
I am a source of strength, enabling them to stand.
I am a beam of light, shining upon their way.
And thus I stand.

And standing thus, revolve
And tread this way the ways of men,
And know the ways of God.

Mantram of Unification

The sons of men are one, and I am one with them.
I seek to love, not hate;
I seek to serve and not exact due service.
I seek to heal, not hurt.

Let pain bring due reward of light and love.
Let the soul control the outer form
And life and all events,
And bring to light the love
Which underlies the happenings of the time.

Let vision come and insight.
Let the future stand revealed.
Let inner union demonstrate
And outer cleavages be gone.

A Unifying Mantram for Disciples

I am one with my group brothers, and all that I have is theirs.
May the love which is in my soul pour forth to them.

Center of all Love

In the Center of all Love I stand
And from this center

Invocation for the United Nations

May the Peace and the Blessings of the Holy Ones pour forth over the worlds --- rest upon the United Nations, on the work and the workers, protecting, purifying, energizing and strengthening.

There is a peace which passeth understanding. It abides in the hearts of those who live in the Eternal. There is a Power that maketh all things new. It lives and moves in those who know the Self as One.

May the Rhythm of that Peace vibrate within the United Nations and in the heart of every worker. May the Rhythm of that Creative Power resound within the United Nations, and in the lives of all who serve there --- awakening, transmuting and giving birth to that which ought to be.

May the Chalice the United Nations is building become a focal point for the descent of spiritual force, which filling it and overflowing to the world draws toward itself all those whose work lies there. May the Consciousness of the United Nations become ever more at-one, the many lights One Light in the Light of the Self.

May the aspiration and the dedication of the United Nations burn as a clear flame in the service of Humanity. May the Love and the Light and the ONE LIFE pour through the United Nations, cleansing it from all evil, and attracting all good.
